Formerly a torpedo factory, submarine base and gasworks, Sub Base Platypus is an emerging public domain on the foreshore of North Sydney, homeland of the Cammeraygal People. Featuring a shaded BBQ area with seating, a pocket playground inspired by the sites maritime heritage, and a scenic over-water walkway to Kesterton Park, Sub Base Platypus is a place where visitors can enjoy R&R on the waterfront and engage with local history. There are also toilets, 2 hot indoor showers, accessible toilet and shower and a baby change area. Open 7am to 9pm, daily. No camping or overnight parking.
