Bald Hill Lookout Lawernce Hargrave Reserve
Point of InterestDescription
This free point of interest offers toilets, (though they are closed at night), drinking water and a spectacular view of Stanwell Park, Seacliff Bridge and the Northern Illawarra. It is dog friendly and is Australia's premier coastal hang gliding site. If the wind is right it is mesmerising. It usually has an ice cream van and a small takeaway and coffee kiosk.
Uncertain if camping or overnight parking is technically allowed but there are no signs and many people do, with no hassles by council, police or locals. Though it can be very busy with lots of hooning noise, especially on weekends. The smaller lower carpark (50m) away is quieter. (Admin, I am a very close neighbour who visits the site daily - if there are no signs in NSW does that make it ok to overnight camp?)
