Description

----- Take your budget further and get 5% off when you use the code WELWIKI5 on your booking through the link on WikiCamps. Enjoy your experience! ----- If zoos aren't for you, embark on this intimate nature experience to get up close and personal with Australian wildlife in their natural environment. On this full-day adventure, you will get to visit three unique habitats including a eucalyptus forest, hinterland rainforest and open grasslands to discover the native animals that call these special places home. Joined by your passionate guide and wildlife expert, get picked up from your accommodation in a luxury eight-seater 4WD van as you travel to a variety of stunning and natural locations, all within an hour's drive of beautiful Byron Bay. You are guaranteed to see a koala or two, a mob of kangaroos, a whole colony of flying foxes and many species of birds. If conditions are right you may also see pademelons, echidnas, tawny frogmouths and water dragons. Your guide will teach you how to spot the difference between a kangaroo and a wallaby, or a grey-headed flying fox and a black one. Along the way, you will be amazed at the abundant birdlife. Native hens and ducks, noisy colourful parrots, iconic kookaburras, magpies, currawongs and tiny flitting wrens and robins, are just some of the birdlife you will likely encounter on this safari. In between soaking up your scenic drives and walks, stop to enjoy a picnic lunch of delicious locally-sourced ingredients. This award-winning, small-group tour has an advanced eco-tourism certification and we are passionate about sharing our knowledge and caring for the natural environment. As with all our eco-tours, it is our goal to observe but not disturb the wildlife. If you want to feed or pat the wildlife, this is not the tour for you.
