Joe Keenan Lookout is a short 5min drive or a 15min walk from the city centre. It is a nice park with excellent views over the city with the huge mine operation as a back drop. It really shows a interesting perspective from this lookout. There are picnic tables and beautiful trees and information of the history of the mining operation. Excellent for a quick photo or for a informative longer stay or a picnic. This free point of interest offers nice scenery. It is dog friendly. No camping or overnight parking allowed.
