Point of InterestDescription
Adjacent to Hobson Park in Bourke, the water tower is painted to commemorate the first Indigenous Gold Medal winner, Percy Hobson, who was born in Bourke. Hobson won his Gold Medal in High Jump (6ft 11 in) at the Commonwealth Games in Perth, 1962. The water tower was painted in April 2021 by artist John Murray in collaboration with other artists and local indigenous input.
