The large Tocumwal hangars, 100mx50m, are significant historical buildings, being the largest clear-span timber buildings in Australia. They introduced a unique structural technology, employing shear connectors and steel plate joints, enabling the innovative use of green Australian hardwoods in their urgent wartime construction in 1942. No camping or overnight parking.
