Kurri Kurri and surrounding villages are rich in coal mining history. Historical attractions include the Richmond Main Mining and Steam Railway Museum and the Sir Edgeworth David Memorial Museum.
Kurri Kurri is a country town of unique heritage ambience including seven hotels built at the turn of the century. Features nearby are the beautiful vineyards, golf courses and restaurants. Popular tourist venues include the historic Maitland Gaol and Morpeth, the old river port well known for its arts and crafts.
