Giddy River (Guwatjurumurru) Campsite 2
CampgroundDescription
Guwatjurumurru/Giddy River is a river with beautiful waterholes and mini-gorges. No drones.
Resistant rock has defined the shape of the river channel and forms shallow shelves between the more deeply carved sections of the watercourse.
Located approximately 40km from Nhulunbuy, the track provides access to the western side of the river and the rock pools there.
There are camping areas located on both sides of the river. Access is via 4WD only and sites are suitable for tents and camper trailers. Toilets, picnic tables, bbq and fire rings are available.
Genaral Permits are required for each individual person visiting this Recreation Area. This area is managed by Dhimurru according to the conditions and requirements of the Traditional Landowners. The permit covers day trips, camping and fishing activities. Permit applications can be made online or by contacting the Dhimurru office on 08 8939 2700 or permits@dhimurru.com.au. Permits must be obtained prior to arrival.
