The Rapids, bush camp. The Rapids is 17km(sealed road) from Katherine and is privately owned and operated by myself and husband Markus. This will be the third year of operation so still keeping it to limited vacancy. Located 17km from Katherine this 600 acres of pristine bush with access to the Katherine river. We have a few options suited to your needs. We have powered sites with use of ablution block and amenities. $30 pernight per couple. Non powered sites near the river if you are fully self contained. $15 a night per couple And an option for non power sites and use of ablution and amenities. $20 a night per couple. Extra person per night negotiable. Ablution block and powered sites are located up near the house. Or you may chose.to camp down near the river (not on) approx 3-5 km from house with clear graded access for off road caravans and campers. Please call or email us preferably adults 30+ and sorry no kids at this stage.*** as we are still developing and like to keep it secluded for small group of travellers at a time. Pets allowed but only if your camping down the river and must be on a lead at all times. Sorry but we have live stock and beloved pets on the property. On Sunday nights- Once the season gets off to a start come sit around the bush camp where at a small cost you can enjoy bush camp oven traditional stew dinners ( usually 2 options beef or pork- all home grown on our block with fresh veggies from our community home grown garden) served with fresh damper. If that's not enough enjoy a sing along with bush poetry and ballads from my musical gifted husband. STRICTLY OPEN SEASONAL - Opened between and including the months of APRIL to Mid October.
