Description

The rock carvings (petroglyphs) of Ewaninga represent one of Central Australia's earliest and richest art sites. This Reserve is an important sacred site called Napwerte (pronounced 'Na-poort-a'). Traditional Owners welcome visitors to this place, however Aboriginal women and children are asked not to enter the Reserve. Ewaninga Walk 600 metre loop - Easy - 30 minutes This walk to the petrogypns passes through spinitex sandplains, over minor sandstone outcrops and around a low lying claypan. Plase respect this fragile site by remaining on the marked track and take care not to touch the petroglyphs.
