Motor Car Creek Falls
Point of InterestDescription
This small pristine waterfall is a favourite in the tropical summer when Kakadu's larger falls tend to be inaccessible.
Surrounded by monsoon forest it remains one of Kakadu's hidden gems despite being heavily photographed and featured in travel magazines for its beauty.
Although it's a bit of a trek at 7.5 kms return visitors find it well worth the effort. A refreshing swim under the waterfall is another bonus. Head for the Yurmikmik walks to venture out to this Kakadu jewel.
Along the walk look out for wallaroos and listen for the chorus of birds.
Be Crocwise: Swimming
Ensure you observe all safety signs, and be aware that whenever you are near water in the park, there is a risk of crocs!
Kakadu has Crocodile Management Zones to minimise risk to humans. Even in these zones you should be cautious.
Crocodile warning signs and Crocodile Management Zones are not found everywhere.
Pets are not permitted.
No camping or overnight parking allowed.
