Stuart Town Gaol

Construction of the Stuart Town Gaol and police station started in 1907 and was made using local materials sourced from the district. Construction was completed in 1909 and it served as the town's gaol until 1938. Today it is managed by the National Trust (NT) and houses memorabilia and stories relating to police and prisoner history and life in Central Australia. Open to the public via keys collected from Hartley St School Museum at 39 Hartley St between 10.30am-2.30pm Mon to Fri and Sat between 9am-12.30pm. $20 refundable key deposit required.
