The Mount Surprise Hotel has recently re-opened its doors! Whoever is eager to support our small local business by coming in for a feed (and possiboy a cold beer) is more than welcome to stay in our back yard. This is a trial run, to see if this is an idea that we can execute well, and maybe even expand and progress in the future. For now, camping in tents is not allowed, as we're working hard on getting the ground/grass healthy and green again. We will update this page if this changes. Rooftop tents are welcome. Our bathrooms will be locked overnight. 24/7 public toilets are a short minute walk away from the property, as well as a dump point for your convenience. The Hotel's showers can be used for a small fee of $2.50, only during opening hours. We have limited washing machines. If wanting to do your laundry, please let staff know and pay at the bar ($5 per washing machine/dryer cycle). Please be aware that we can only offer this if machines are not in use by housekeeping/staff. Pets are allowed to stay in the yard and out front of the hotel, however they are not allowed to enter the building. Please keep noise to a minimum, quiet hours are 10pm-8pm. Please take your rubbish and clean up after yourself! We are working on getting some convenient bins out there for you. A newly built playground is conveniently located right across the road, there is reliable Telstra reception and a nice little creek down the road if you fancy to go for a swim and meet the freshies. We do not take bookings at this point, it is first come first serve. Check-in only between opening hours (usually 10am-8.30pm at the very least). If arriving late, we recommended to call ahead to check if we are open still. Please note this is a trial run, and we are a new business, still figuring out the most convenient and efficient way to run it. Please be kind and patient with us :) We hope to see you soon!
