There is a 29 degree C warm artesian spa, 6 feet by 8 feet in which to have a dip. A donkey boiler provides the heat for warm showers, so check out the machinery involved. Old timbers have been put to great reuse around the spa, shower and toilet buildings. The owners have restored the engine drivers cottage to the rear of the campground. It is an interesting little museum containing some sign boards and photographs about the Old Ghan, the Afghan cameleers and the Coward Springs Rail sidings. The excess water from the bore flows to the desert and supports a myriad of birds, plants and animals in its wetland. Some of the date palms were planted by the Afghans in the late 1800s.
