King's site & campground, Cooper Creek
CampgroundDescription
Located 5 km south-west of Innamincka, this campground is where John King, the sole survivor of the Burke and Wills expedition was found alive in 1861. Access is via the Fifteen Mile Track. The campground has two unpowered campsites. Come prepared to be self-sufficient as this campground has no facilities.
4WD is required for access. Suitable for: tents and camper trailers.
Campsites need to be booked prior to arrival.
Dogs are welcome in this park.
Please ensure you:
- Keep your dog under control and on a lead no more than two metres in length.
- Stick to designated walking trails.
- Bring disposable bags to clean up your dog's faeces (please be aware there are no bins in national parks).
