Mainwater Well

The Mainwater Well camping area is approximately two hours drive north-west of Balcanoona via Wortupa Loop Track. A small camping area is located next to the old well alongside the tea-tree lined Mainwater Creek. This camping area provides a great base from which to explore the northern areas of the park and for hikers to explore Mainwater Creek.
4WD is required to access this campground. Fees apply and you must book in advance.
Sites are unpowered and sitable for tents, camper trailers and off-road caravans. There are no facilities. Campers must be self sufficent and come well prepared.
Collection of firewood within National Parks is prohibited. Dead wood plays a vital role in providing shelter for animals and adding nutrients to the soil. BYO firewood. Take all rubbish with you.
Dogs are not permitted in this park. There is no mobile phone coverage in the park.
