Description

Roonka is a great camping facility run by Scouts SA with capacity for 150+ people. Sole occupancy and large group bookings are available mid week, with individual and family campers welcome on weekends and during SA Government school holidays. It has well shaded, grassed and drained sites. There are powered and unpowered sites, suitable for tents, camper trailers, caravans, motorhomes and campervans. Generators are not permitted so book a powered site if you need power. Facilities include toilets, showers, bunkrooms, camp kitchen for everyone and two kitchen-dining rooms available for hire. Also has a private Billabong, River Murray access ramps, riverfront water slide, twin flying fox and paddlecraft for hire. Powered boats are welcome but no jetskis. Small to medium dogs are welcome outdoors on lead. The camp is managed by a mix of Scouts SA staff and friendly volunteer Camp Hosts. Call Phone 1 Mon-Fri 9am-5pm or Phone 2 Sat-Sun 9am-5pm. Bookings essential before arriving to avoid disappointment as the camp does also host some Sole Occupancy bookings, e.g. School, Scout Groups and celebrations.
