Description

Only 540 km north of Adelaide in the heart northern Flinders Ranges, Warraweena encompasses 355 sq km of the highest and most diverse land in the area. It is an area of historical, cultural and natural significance. Access to Warraweena is via the abandoned Beltana Roadhouse. The homestead, which is 2WD accessable, is approximately 50 minutes away from Parachilna and Leigh Creek. A 4WD vehicle is essential on most station tracks. Various accommodation options are available including bush camping, powered sites, bush huts, shearers quarters and homestead. 4 wheel driving, mountain biking and bush walking are available. Warraweena boasts over 250 km of rugged and scenic 4WD tracks to suit all skill levels. Toilets, Showers and Laundry are located next to the Shearers Quarters and are freely accessable to all visitors. Most campsites are equipped with well maintained long drop toilets. Fire regulations and restrictions apply. Campfires are only allowed in campfire rings. Firewood may be collected in designated areas only. Warraweena is a conservation park, all trees and dead wood are protected. We strongly encourage you to bring your own firewood into Warraweena. Please stay on designated and open tracks. Drive slowly, you are sharing the tracks with wildlife and other visitors including bushwalkers and cyclists. Tracks may be closed for management reasons or due to bad weather. Warraweena is a Conservation reserve; there is no rubbish collection here. Please do not litter. All ruins are historically significant, do not climb on them or take pieces. Before bringing pets, generators, chainsaws and motorbikes, seek management approval. Strictly no firearms and no metal detectors. 1080 fox baits may have been laid in some areas. Please check with manager for up to date information.
