Located 600km north of Adelaide and 130km east of Leigh Creek, and in the ruggedly spectacular northern Flinders Ranges, this 610sq km multi award-winning Wilderness Sanctuary, operated by the Sprigg family, contains some of Australia's most spectacular mountain views and offers numerous Advanced Ecotourism accredited guided tours.
Bookings are not necessary.
Facilities include:
50 powered and a large number of non-powered sites - suitable for caravans and camping
Laundry with basic equipment
Ablution block (showers and toilets)
Gas BBQ facilities including undercover seating
Access to motel accommodation's in-ground swimming pool
Note: There are no dump facilities at the Arkaroola Caravan Park or Camping Grounds - the nearest is at Copley, 130 km to the east.
In addition to camping sites (powered and unpowered) within the caravan park, there are approx 300 ha of bush-setting camping grounds available. Books are not necessary.
Camping in other areas of Arkaroola is not permitted because of the impact such activity would have on wildlife and the environment. Swimming in waterholes is absolutely prohibited.
