Description

The Rebuild Independence Group are building a replica of the 45ft U.S Schooner Independence built in 1803. The boathouse is open most days 10.30 am to 2.30 pm. A volunteer guide will tell you the story of the original vessel and the crew. This was the first vessel built in South Australia. The rebuild commenced in 2017 and it relies solely on donations and Volunteers. There is a donation tin if you wish to contribute or for $20 you can have your name on the shed wall. There is a cafe next door to assist with your visit.
