Scrubby Peak Hike
Grade 5
2km
Allow 4 hours
This energetic 4 hour hike, initially follows the old vehicle track before winding its way up the eastern slope of Scrubby Peak and onto the summit. A fantastic hike in the cooler months that provides an opportunity to observe some spectacular wildflowers along the way. Resting at rocky outcrops to take in the views, hikers may encounter the Crested Dragon or the Inland Thornbill or catch a rare glimpse of a Wedge-tailed Eagle soaring into the breeze. Not to be missed at the summit is the historic surveyors baseline cairn constructed from local rock with views extending over the spectacular Gawler Ranges landscape.
