Description

This large beautiful natural campsite will be by the road between Launceston and Hobart and is easily accessible via a gravel/dirt road in all weather. There is room for 60+ vans in the marked blue section of the map attached. Overnight parking will be available for fully self-contained motor homes and caravans and big rig caravans. There will be no tent based camping or camping in cars allowed at this location under any circumstances (as there are no facilities). The definition of self-contained is that campers must carry their own water supply, contain internal washing and toilet facilities, and have onboard wastewater storage tanks (no discharge on the ground). Penalties apply. Permits are required and are self issued. Maximum 48 hour stay. - The following rules apply to use this site: - All rubbish and other waste is to be removed on departure (there are no rubbish bins provided on site) - Pets are to be always kept under strict control; dogs must always be in leads and not allowed within raceway boundary. - Use of generators after 10pm are prohibited - Only a vehicle which is self contained with respect to shower, toilet, washing, cooking and sleeping facilities, with holding tanks for toilet and waste and sullage/grey/black water is permitted. Discharge of liquid and any waste is prohibited within the designated over night areas Come and support the friends of Symmons Plains Raceway. Symmons Plains is part of Motorsports Tasmania. A not for profit group. Please note that there is no access to the racetrack itself however you can view the track through the fence.
