flat grassy campsites
firepits
picnic areas
re-surfaced roads
new toilet facilities.
This picturesque site sits along the popular Bruntons Bridge Rd connecting Walhalla to Cowwarr, check out the historic bridge and take in views of regenerating forest in the area from the viewing platform above the bridge, accessible from the lowest tier of the camping area, alternatively continue down the road and head right along the river to find a pebbly beach and swimming area.
There are several campsites set into the tiered hillside with access and parking spots well defined by bollards, and stairs leading down to the toilets. Please refrain from camping by the river due to safety and environmental concerns.
The campsite is located on the Whalalla side of the river. Access from the north is suitable for 2WD vehicles in dry weather. Access from the south is 4WD only, a river crossing is required, with heavy flow after rain.
