Shipwreck Creek Campground
CampgroundDescription
This small campground is set in a tall forest above a small secluded cove which is only a 10 minute walk away. It is an excellent base for walks covering both heathland and coastal scenery.
The campground is approximately 15kms from Mallacoota along the unsealed Betka Road and Centre Track. Be sure to check change of conditions for the Croajingolong National Park to ensure that access is currently available.
Advance bookings and payment are required year round. Bookings for the peak summer period opens on 1 August each year at 12 noon local time. Bookings for the Labour Day weekend (3-night minimum stay) and for Easter (4-night minimum stay) open on 2 February each year.
There are 5 campsites available, including a designated overnight hiker site for walkers undertaking the Wilderness Coast Walk. All campsites are unpowered sites. The campsite is suitable for tents and campervans.
Non-flush toilets, shared picnic tables and fireplaces are provided. Campfires are only allowed in designated fireplaces - supply your own wood.
There are a number of walking tracks around Shipwreck Creek, from remote sandy beaches and heathlands to rocky coastline. Along these walks are views of Gabo Island and the Howe Range. Among the eucalypt forests are brilliant displays of native flowers during spring and early summer.
Pets are not permitted.
