Description

Yanipy Nature Reserve was primarily set up for outdoor education for school groups, however, it is open to the public and is a free bush camping spot located only a few kms from Kaniva. The site is rough but has campfires, a table and seating, shelter hut and pit toilet (not maintained), so please remember to take all rubbish with you as these areas are not serviced. Various orchids can be found close to the camping area in springtime. The site is situated along the Kaniva-Edenhope Rd, it is quite hidden and easy to go past, so slow down as you pass the carrot farm. The road into the camp site is 4WD only, however you can park and walk along the sandy road if you do not have 4WD access. From here, you can also continue on to Broughton's Waterhole and take in the Little Desert McDonalds highway (also 4WD only).
