Blue Pool Day Use
Day Use AreaDescription
The Blue Pool day use area is north of Briagolong in Gippsland. It is currently being upgraded with works and has been CLOSED since November 2019.
However there is a second smaller car park and drop toilets, 100m further along, that is still open.
Visitor access to the Pool and local walking tracks remains open.
NOTE: the walking tracks are poorly marked so take notice of where you are goig.
Located in the Briagalong State Forest on Freestone Creek this site will, when it finally opens, provide interpretative facilities, barbeques, shelters, toilets and walking tracks.
The pool itself has formed at the bottom of narrow basalt gorge and provides a wonderful deep swimming hole during the warmer months. The creek can be accessed via a walking track starting from the car park.
There are no rubbish collection facilities, take all rubbish with you and leave no trace.
Note: The Freestone Creek Road is a narrow 2WD sealed road not suitable for caravans. It turns to gravel after Blue Pool.
