1800 Princess Margaret Rose Caves Road, Mumbannar, Victoria.
Description
The Princess Margaret Rose Cave is very often referred to as the 'Jewel in Crown' of the Lower Glenelg National Park. It was formed by the constant dripping of rainwater through limestone over thousands of years. The different colours of the caves come from tannins and minerals washing down from the soil above.
Tours of the Rose cave take 40 minutes. The guide will explain many unique and interesting features. There are 65 steps down to the cave with no disabled access. However, it is not a difficult climb and there are safety rails to hold onto while making the descent.
This paid point of interest offers toilets and walking tracks. Dogs are not permitted.
