Minnivale Townsite Rest Area And Dump Pt (donatn)
CampgroundDescription
The 'town' is in fact a wheat silo and three or four houses and an old church. Originally known as 36 Mile Post on the Rabbit Proof Fence, arailway siding was constructed in 1911. The railway siding was initially called Nenin but the name was changed to Minnivale when the townsite was gazetted.
The name was said to have come from Alexander Forrest who named it in 1911 in honour of Miss Minnie Fraser who was the daughter of the Commissioner of Crown Lands.
