The Nairibin cricket ground was home to the Nairibin Cricket Club and Social Centre for almost 90 years. In 1926 the young people of the Nairibin community held a meeting in 'Thompson's Barn' and from this the Nairibin Cricket Club was formed. In October that year the first competitive match was played. The Club lapsed during World War I but interest was rekindled with the arrival of Soldier Settlers. It is thought the concrete cricket pitch built on the sports ground was laid in 1926 as part of a busy bee. The women involved in the club helped by serving afternoon teas and fundraising. The Club was extended to include tennis in the 1930s. Two courts were built from anthill. A ti-tree shelter was built to add to the two iron sheds already used for storage and lunches. The Club's activities continued through the Depression years and World War II, until the decline in population forced the clubs closure in 1995.
