Withnell Point Camp
CampgroundDescription
Bring your own four-wheel drive (BYO 4WD) and camp on some of the most remote and exclusive island beaches you will find in the world.
Withnell Point is a large beachside camping area that can accomodate 3 seperate group bookings. There are no facilities. The point itself provides excellent beach fishing - even for kids using plastics or poppers.
There is no tree shelter here, but the bay is broad and beautiful. Anticipate roughly a 2.5hr drive from the barge drop-off point (Cape Ransonnet). Guests often choose to camp at the Homestead campgrounds on their final night before they transfer off the island to be closer to the morning barge.
No wood fires or firewood collection is allowed. Portable cookers are preferred.
Please take out what you bring in. Do not leave any rubbish, food scraps or any other items on the island and do not bury any rubbish. Stow rubbish securely to prevent it from being blown away.
Bury toilet waste in a hole at least 50 centimetres deep at least 100 metres away from campsites and other public areas.
No pets.
