Black Diamond Lake
Day Use AreaDescription
Black Diamond in Allanson is one of the most beautiful water holes in WA and, with its intense blue waters and forest surrounds, it has become a social media hotspot.
However, it is currently an unmanaged abandoned mine site that is unfortunately experiencing environmental damage from inappropriate use.
There are no toilets or potable water and only limited rubbish facilities provided at Black Diamond. Please also respect the rehabilitation efforts by observing sign-posted revegetation areas and keeping clear.
There is strictly no camping allowed at Black Diamond. Rangers patrol during busy periods and have the capacity to issue on-the-spot fines.
Campers are encouraged to use Stockton Lake, also a stunning open cut mine, 8km east of Collie where camping is permitted and toilet, picnic and barbeque facilities are provided.
As with all inland water bodies, Black Diamond carries risks in certain conditions, and users are advised to take appropriate precautions. Beware of submerged objects that may be hidden from view and avoid getting water up your nose.
