Description

The Blackwood River Park is situated on the southern side of Bridgetown on the bank of the Blackwood River. The Blackwood River Park is the site of the first police station in 1862. The park is home to the Rotary Wishing Well and also has playground equipment, BBQ, gazebo, picnic table and public toilets. Markets are held in the park once a fortnight on a Sunday morning and are popular with locals and visitors alike who come to buy fresh local produce and much more; it is also a social outing to meet friends. Park your car in the large car park to access the River Walk (there is a footbridge behind the caravan park), the Old Rectory Walk (which goes under both bridges) or just walk to the river's edge and enjoy the scenery. No camping or overnight parking.
