Cable Beach is a 22 km stretch of white sand beach on the eastern Indian Ocean. For a spectacular ocean sunset, Cable Beach will not disappoint.
4WD Vehicles are permitted on Cable Beach in the area 'north of the rocks' access is via the vehicle ramp at Cable Beach Road West, and cars must proceed past the rocks to the northern part of the beach. Be aware of the tide times. Turtles nest on Cable Beach between October and February, and there are some restrictions on beach driving during that time.
The area 'north of the rocks' is clothing optional.
Toilets, showers and change facilities are located by the car park and main entrance at Cable Beach Road West.
Stingers may be present between November and April. Caution is required when swimming during this period.
Crocodiles have occasionally been sighted offshore.
Dogs are permitted in leashes.
No camping or overnight parking allowed.
