From the car park it take the Barrimindi Trail to Deep Reach pool: Toilets, tables and barbecues provided. Swimming, canoes, kayaks and windsurfers are permitted. Barrimindi Trail Class 1 400 metres return. Allow 15 minutes Follow the concrete path to the picnic area and viewing platform alongside Deep Reach pool. The path represents the body of the serpent and the lookout its head. Enjoy the riverside vegetation of coolibahs (Eucalyptus victrix), river red gums (Eucalyptus camaldulensis) and shrubby paperbarks (Melaleuca bracteata). At the viewing platform, look deep into the water. Hear the whisper of the wind! Yindjibarndi people believe the pool is bottomless and the rainbow serpent Barrimirndi, rests here.
