This site is a commemorative area for Arthur Stanley Gurney VC. Private Gurney charged two enemy machine gun posts at Tel el Eisa in Egypt after his commanding officers were killed. Sustaining fatal injuries, his body was found by his comrades. He is buried at El Alemain.
This is no longer a free campground, no overnight camping permitted.
It is accessible to RVs, caravans and big rigs.
