Lookout from an overhanging rock formation that provides spectacular views of the Murchison River Gorge in the Kalbarri National Park.
The Z Bend lookout overhangs a sharp bend in the Murchison River and can be reached via a 600-metre walk trail from the car park. Enjoy scenic views of the river gorge from this lookout. Visitors with a good level of fitness can also hike down into the gorge and access the rivers edge.
Z Bend Lookout - A moderately easy walk to a spectacular rock lookout overlooking the river.
Distance: 1.2km return Difficulty: Class 3
Z Bend River Trail - This demanding hike provides river access from the Z Bend Lookout path. Expect loose rocks, steep descents and ladder climbs. Take extreme care in this gorge risk area.
Distance: 2.6km return Difficulty: Class 4.
Four Ways Trail - This strenuous but interesting hike decends into the gorge to a location known as Four Ways. The return journey is much more difficult.
Distance: 6km return Difficulty: Class 4
Pets are not permitted and National Park entry fees apply.
