Malcolm Old Town Site
Point of InterestDescription
Malcolm was the regional centre for the Mount Margaret Goldfields with the first gold discovery being pegged in November 1896. Townsite was declared in 1897 and was named after Mount Malcolm, which in turn has been named by John Forrest during his explorations of 1869, taking the name of his fellow explorer and friends, Malcolm Hanersley.
