Recollections of War
Point of InterestDescription
John and Kathryn have a fascination with the human experience of war, both good and ill, and a powerful sense of respect and admiration for Australians and others who set out to fight in conflicts past. This has led them to build a unique home for letters, photographs, uniforms, relics and other noteworthy items. Their ever-growing collection is treasured in a series of rooms built by John himself, in displays designed by Kathryn. You are welcome to step into this special place and share their journey as a place of contemplation and inspiration.
OPENING TIMES
We are open strictly by appointment only. This means that if you want to visit, you contact us first to arrange a time and date.
We are flexible with time of the day or day of the week. We live within metres of the collection building so can have the lights on and the doors open in minutes.
We suggest you allow 1.5-2 hours for a visit. There is a great deal to see and it can be quite immersive. It is unlikely that you will see everything in one visit. Aside from the constant stream of new acquisitions, we intend to have themed exhibitions drawn from the larger collection that will change over time.
