Schwenke Dam & Waterbird Walk Trail
Point of InterestDescription
A Sculpture named 'Nest' has been created and placed at at Schwenke's Dam to complement the former historic mining void - now a wetland for birdlife.
'Nest' is made from recycled wire and wood and is the creation of Perth-based artist Sally Stoneman. The wire egg is created from recycled fencing wire from the wheat belt region of Western Australia and incorporates some of the original No 2 'rabbit proof' fence. It is a feature of the Waterbird Walk trail around the dam and connecting trail to the Greenbushes Pool.
