Yardie Creek Walk Trailhead
Point of InterestDescription
Yardie Creek flows between the spectacular sheer cliffs, known as Yardie Creek Gorge.
The Yardie Nature Walk leads to the gorge and boat tour meeting point from the main car park and toilet area. A picnic area is located in a grove of trees about 100m along the walking trail.
Yardie Nature Walk
This gentle walk follows the northern side of the gorge above the vertical red rock walls. Several vantage points give excellent views of the gorge, the creek mouth and Ningaloo Reef.
Distance: 1.2km return Time: Allow 40 minutes Difficulty: Class 2
Yardie Gorge Trail
The trail begins at the trailhead near the end of the Yardie Creek Walk. It is initially an easy walk but becomes more difficult as you ascend the Range. Look closely and you may be able to spot black-footed rock wallabies as they shelter on ledges along the southern cliff face, waiting for evening before coming out to feed. You must remain on the trail on the northern side of the gorge so that you do not disturb these animals.
Distance: 1.5km return to the trailhead Time: Allow 1 hour Difficulty: Class 4
